INTRAMAR finds insurance in AYOP network

Insurance broker INTRAMAR has joined the network of Amsterdam IJmuiden Offshore Ports. From its offices in Den Helder, the company provides custom insurance solutions for businesses active in the international offshore, oil & gas and wind energy sector. “As a partner that connects everything from IJmuiden to Den Helder, AYOP seamlessly matches our business approach,” says INTRAMAR director Nico de Wit.

INTRAMAR was established in 1994 and is mainly focused on insurance coverage and services dedicated to activities and safety regimes for oil & gas companies and maritime agencies. By adapting and further developing its insurance solutions, INTRAMAR has expanded its services and client database in compliance with the operational and statutory requirements for the offshore wind industry. The company has been providing coverage to the sector in the fields of liability, personnel, equipment, vessels, technical aspects, contractors and special projects since 2006.

New developments in insurance for oil, gas and wind

It is common in our industry to work with contracting and procurement conditions that include specific contract provisions based on the knock-for-knock principle, such as mutual hold harmless agreements and the waiver of subrogation rights. “These specific provisions demand equally specific insurance conditions,” explains Nico. “INTRAMAR has developed a highly valued specialism in this field over the past 27 years. We can honestly say that we have initiated a number of developments for companies in the sector which are unique in the world of insurance.”

Sylvia Boer: “Our sector is an exceptional sector that faces specific challenges with regards to insurance. There are very few easy solutions and those that do exist usually require custom work. INTRAMAR is an excellent addition to our network that can provide AYOP members with bespoke advice.”
