Family business TOS joins AYOP: worldwide staff and ship deliveries

TOS is an international service provider in staff solutions for the maritime, onshore, offshore & wind energy sector. The Rotterdam company has been sourcing flexible crew, personnel and effective staff solutions for a global clientele since 1992. “AYOP is an active and visible trade association,” says Eline Suurmond, Business Manager Onshore at TOS. “We have been warmly welcomed as a Rotterdam business and are gaining more insight into the chain of offshore wind players in the Amsterdam region as a result. We look forward to meeting up regularly.”

TOS is an authentic close-knit family business. Established in 1992, it has developed into a maritime service provider that brings companies and professionals together around the world, encouraging people to find their strengths and enjoy their work. With offices in Poland, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Cyprus and Indonesia, TOS serves the international market and is still growing. A new office was opened in Vlissingen (NL) at the start of 2022 and the company will soon open a location in Rijeka, Croatia. TOS selects, seconds and supervises the best people, and employs some 1500 professionals worldwide on a daily basis.

People & Ship Delivery

TOS can supply experienced professionals as temps, on secondment or for direct placement. This includes:

  • Nautical crew: Officers, Engineers, ABs and Catering
  • Construction teams: Foremen, Riggers, Gangway Operators, Electricians and Crane Operators
  • Maintenance teams: E&I Technicians, Turbine Technicians and Mechanics
  • Supervisors: Lifting and Offshore construction
  • Project Staffing & Onshore Professionals
Wind farm and decommissioning teams

In recent years TOS has become specialised in supplying construction and maintenance teams for offshore wind installation and decommissioning projects in the North Sea, the German Bight and Asia. These teams are used to working together and have been trained in accordance with the highest standards in the sector. The acquisition & selection, training and planning related to these professionals is realised in close cooperation with clients. In turn, these clients benefit from flexible and cost-efficient solutions for their project teams. In addition, TOS provides advice on issues such as payment options and international legislation and regulations, and provides total crewing and ship management.

Ship delivery & Sea2Shore

Another TOS speciality is ship delivery, from strategic moves, the purchase of existing or new vessels, to the global sea transport of all types of ships. Moreover, for over 15 years TOS has been assisting maritime professionals who wish to switch to an onshore position. “We have a wide range of talented and experienced maritime professionals available with various degrees, experience at sea and ambitions for onshore posts,” says Eline. “Our Sea2Shore candidates continue to prove their significant added value in onshore functions for our offshore clients – it’s a real win/win situation.”

“The labour market is so tight right now that an experienced company like TOS can certainly be of added value to many of our members,” adds Sylvia Boer, director of AYOP. “That’s especially the case with its Sea2Shore approach, which enables us to retain professionals within our sector. We are therefore delighted that TOS has decided to join our association.”
