AYOP Business Call with Eneco
Eneco’s vision on the opportunities and challenges in Offshore Wind
Eneco is one of the largest investors in the development of sustainable energy projects such as wind farms. One of its projects is with Shell Nederland in the Consortium CrossWind joint venture, which involves construction of the Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm. Eneco Wind is already situated in IJmuiden with a maintenance base for the offshore wind farms Eneco Luchterduinen and Prinses Amalia.
During the AYOP Business Call on Tuesday 8 June Dave de Lang, Energy Transition Manager for Central Netherlands at the Eneco Group, will explain the latest developments and talk about the role herein for the entire supply chain. He will also discuss Eneco’s perspective on the energy transition and the role it aims to play. What changes has Eneco made and which challenges does it continue to encounter? What new developments does Eneco expect and how will the company address them?
While Eneco is putting a strong focus on wind energy, offshore wind projects do not generate electricity continuously. Balancing these peaks and lows and integrating electricity within the national energy system requires new technologies. For this reason, the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm will feature various technological demonstrations that are expected to be applied on a large scale in the future. They range from floating solutions and green hydrogen produced by electrolysis to turbines optimally aligned to reduce negative wind shadow effects.
Dave will share more information on all these developments during the Business Call along with Eneco’s vision.
