AYOP Business Call: Hollandse Kust West tender
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) tender for Hollandse Kust West is currently being prepared, and interested parties have until April/May 2022 to submit their application. Our AYOP Business Call on December 14th will be with Hans Timmers, chairman of the Netherlands Wind Energy Association (NWEA), the branch association for the wind sector. He will provide additional information related to the tender, especially on the RVO focal points of ecology and system integration.
A new aspect of the tender is the inclusion of a ‘financial reward’, with parties who submit a tender earning points. For 50 million they’ll receive the maximum points available. The effect of nitrogen legislation also plays a role in the background. What does this mean, and what is the impact on developers and suppliers? Hans will share lots of information and there will be ample opportunity to ask questions.
The Hollandse Kust West (HKW) wind energy region is situated 28.6 nautical miles (53 kilometres) off the Dutch west coast. The area contains two lots: HKW VI and VII. The total surface area of these lots (including maintenance and safety zones) is approx. 176 km2. Hollandse Kust West will be supplying 1,400 MW (2 x 700 MW) in energy to the Dutch power grid. Grid operator TenneT will be installing two platforms with two grid connections in the region.
