Ambitious sustainability goals for new AYOP member EST-Floattech
EST-Floattech, a leading manufacturer of DNV GL-certified (lithium) battery systems for maritime and land-based applications, recently joined AYOP. The company’s 45 employees share a genuine passion for water and nature as they work together towards the goal of zero-emission shipping.
Led by the head office in Hoofddorp, EST-Floattech has sales and project departments in Germany and Norway and is active worldwide. With a track record of over 200 global projects, it is one of the strongest suppliers of maritime batteries. These lithium-ion batteries are installed in all-electric vessels, in powerful hybrid applications combined with engines, and, most recently, in combination with hydrogen technology too. EST-Floattech’s maritime client portfolio comprises a wide range of projects with small and large applications for sectors such as superyachts, fishing trawlers, naval and work vessels. For land-based applications, the company creates and supports off-grid applications such as mobile energy systems, batteries for diggers and container solutions.
EST-Floattech realises small projects from 21 kWh for wind offshore applications to large-scale installations involving 2.5 MWh. Always a pioneer, the company is currently working as a research partner to TU Berlin where it is contributing its EST-Floattech battery solution to develop the first hydrogen-powered dredger.
EST-Floattech also acts as a professional consulting partner to clients on activities such as calculating the optimal battery capacity or installing a management process via the in-house developed DNV GL-certified Battery Management System – no matter how small the available space for the batteries.
“We joined AYOP because we believe in the power of associations to help and support each other and share business and networks,” says Hans Visser, COO of EST-Floattech. “EST hopes to contribute to the AYOP network based on our dedication to sustainable, green solutions. We can support our fellow members with battery systems and expertise in ESS solutions in offshore energy and in wind and land-based applications. We believe in AYOP as an association and look forward to making the world greener together with other members.”
Sylvia Boer, director of AYOP: “EST-Floattech is perfectly suited to our association for a variety of reasons. Not just with the products the company supplies but also via its sustainability ambitions, which are making a significant contribution to reaching the global climate goals.”
