Around two to three thousand people in Amsterdam Seaports work in the offshore industry, including in the wind energy sector at sea. “This makes us one of the main offshore regions in the Netherlands,” says Ron Davio, chairman of the regional promotional organisation AYOP (Amsterdam IJmuiden Offshore Port).

Grontmij takes over the Fugro activities in the south of France
Ginger, a subsidiary of Dutch engineering en management consultancy firm Grontmij, takes over the business and the employees of Fugro in the south of France. This transaction involves taking over staff (70 employees), equipment and the entire order book of the branches in Aix, Montpellier, Toulouse and Bordeaux.
Planning a study for a large new shipping lock at IJmuiden
Dutch authorities have commissioned leading international engineering and consultany firm DHV to develop three options for a new, larger shipping lock at IJmuiden, part of Amsterdam Seaports. The main objective of the study is to improve the accessibility of the ports along the North Sea Canal.
ASCO Holland (Logistics) has been awarded the contract to provide base and marine services offshore to ADTI, one of Europe’s leading independent integrated drilling companies. The three year contract, with two one year options, will be operated from ASCO’s supply base at the Port of IJmuiden, part of Amsterdam Seaports. ADTI has awarded the contract on behalf of Tullow Oil.
