FABRICOM OIL&GAS WINS CIRRUS ENERGY CONTRACT FOR THE COMPLETE MANUFACTURE AND INSTALLATION OF GAS PRODUCTION PLATFORM
Fabricom Oil&Gas B.V. won a contract for the construction of a complete platform for Cirrus Energy Nederland B.V. As a relatively new player in the Dutch offshore market, Cirrus is anticipating the need for profitably exploiting smaller gas or oil fields in the North Sea. Fabricom Oil&Gas makes this type of exploration possible by manufacturing, installing and maintaining platforms as an integral service package. The placement of the platform to the north of Ameland and putting it into operation are scheduled for the second half of 2008.
As a 'Total Care Partner', Fabricom Oil&Gas delivers efficient solutions for the exploitation of smaller fields. "We have developed a unique concept with which we provide a complete service package to our clients: the 'Total Care Concept'. This contract from Cirrus Energy Nederland, which involves the construction of a completely new platform for the client, perfectly fits into this concept," according to Jaco Fleumer, Fabricom Oil&Gas Commercial Manager. The offshore installation will be carried out by Fabricom Oil&Gas using the JB 110, Jack-up Barge B.V.'s self-elevating platform. The entire facility is certified by Lloyds. Fleumer is proud of the process monitoring and execution of the project. "We are working with an integrated and specifically selected contract management team in which each member has his own area of specialisation and responsibility. Aside from this, the management teams in both companies keep their finger on the pulse on a regular basis via the steering committee."
Efficient, Sustainable and Safe
The Minimal Facilities Platform is completely energy-self-sufficient through use of its own wind mills and solar energy panels. The platform is furthermore developed with sustainability in mind. It can be completely reused and be modularly reconstructed in a different location. This is a definite advantage in relation to the exploitation of marginal fields. The platform will be operating without any personnel. Facilities for the Offshore Access System developed by Fabricom Oil&Gas in collaboration with Amec will be installed for access to the platform. This allows workers to comfortably and safely access the platform from a replenishment vessel, even in bad weather. Both the Offshore Access System and the unmanned operation contribute to a significant degree to safely working at sea.

7th March 2008
Den Helder based, Peterson Offshore Group (POG) and UK
based SBS Logistics Ltd jointly announced today that they plan to
restructure and re-brand their businesses in the Netherlands and in the UK
over the next 3 months. As part of the restructure SBS Logistics Ltd will
become a wholly owned subsidiary of POG and will trade in the name of
Peterson-SBS. The existing Dutch companies belonging to the group will also
trade in the name of Peterson-SBS.
Peterson is privately owned and was founded in Rotterdam in 1920. It
specialises in logistics services, quality control and risk management and
has over 2000 employees in over 50 countries around the world. Peterson
Offshore Group acquired a 20% shareholding in SBS Logistics Ltd in 2005 and
this restructuring of its Oil & Gas logistics operations is seen as a
natural development of what has been a very successful strategic partnership
between the companies.
SBS Logistics Ltd, headquartered in Aberdeen since 1998, was subject to a
Management Buy-Out in 2002. In the last 6 years it has pursued a successful
growth strategy by developing its range of integrated offshore logistics
services in support of its customer.s exploration, production and
decommissioning activities in the UK and through the development of new and
existing supply bases in Shetland, Aberdeen, Edzell, Great Yarmouth and
Heysham. The Company now employs 400 staff in the UK.
Rob Tompot, CEO of Peterson commented .our further investment in SBS
underlines that we are very confident about the future of SBS and the Oil
& Gas market in the UK. In Holland we learned with support of our clients how
to deal best with the maturing of the Continental Shelf. We developed
innovative solutions like vessel sharing and helicopter sharing which proved
to be very cost effective, improved safety and flexibility. We hope to be
able to add more service value to SBS.s clients by making these systems
available to them. We will continue to learn from each other and implement
best practice in both regions.
By offering the SBS management shares in Peterson Offshore Group we continue
to keep the right entrepreneurial spirit within this successful company.
This with the ongoing focus to deliver in depth quality E&P logistics
solutions performed at the highest safety levels to our clients round the
North Sea and other areas in the world where Peterson is already
established. We want to be the quality alternative...
Mike Porter, Managing Director of SBS Logistics, commented .We are very
proud of what our team has achieved in the last 6 years, however felt that
to achieve our full potential and realise our ambition to improve, expand
and internationalise our range of services we needed to be part of a larger
group highly regarded by the Oil & Gas Industry and with an established
global network. We have achieved this with this deal and at the same time
retained our privately owned status which allows us to take a long term view
when developing our relationships with staff, clients and suppliers.
